Polar Music Prize

Punk music legend Iggy Pop is to receive the 2022 Polar Music Prize. The 74-year- old who began his career way back in the mid-60s as a member of the Stooges, has always been top of his craft since he went solo. Iggy Pop whose real name is James Osterberg is best known for his bare- chested stage performances. He will receive the award which includes a 1 million Swedish Kroners prize on May 24at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden. The Polar Music Prize is widely referred to as the Nobel Prize for music.
