Sri Lanka is going to witness the largest travel convention ever held in the country when over 500 delegates from India will be attending the TAAI (Travel Agents Association of India)’s 66th annual convention in Colombo on April 19-21. Sri Lanka Tourism and the Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) are coordinating all local arrangements.

With 500 delegates attending this event and 50 media invitees to get global coverage the TAAI convention will take place over the course of three days where the delegates will learn about the destination and interact with many inbound tour operators of Sri Lanka to initiate and develop new links between our country and one of the largest markets in tourism, industry officials said.

SLAITO President Thilak Weerasinghe said, “This is a great opportunity to create new connections between India and Sri Lanka and build towards the new found, heightened interest in Sri Lanka after the borders opened last year.”

The Colombo Convention will not only be an exceptional inspiration for Indian travellers, it is also an opportunity to promote Sri Lanka and all its stunning facets that make it a unique bucket list destination, amidst all the global media coverage.

Within the TAAI convention there is also an allotted section for local industry members to interact with all the delegates and media personnel during the B2B sessions which is a key factor for Sri Lanka as a whole.
