S-lon conducts programmes in Jaffna and a first time programme

S-lon Lanka (Pvt) Ltd recently conducted twoprogram­mes for their plumbers’ community in the north of the island. The programme for the plumbers’ community in Jaffna took place on January 11 at the Green Grass Hotel in Jaffna, followed by a programme on January 12 at H o t e l Sooriyamah­al in Point Pedro. The programme held in Point Pedro was a first in the history of S-lon.

Both programmes were memorable as they provided an opportunit­y for S- lon to share new knowledge, skills, and techniques with their profession­als. They were conducted under stringent public health regulation­s and held in partnershi­p with the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA).

S- lon is a cherished household name in the local constructi­on and building material industry and S- lon Lanka (Pvt) Ltdis a subsidiary of The Capital Maharaja Group.Since

its inception, 8,000 plumbers around the country have been the force behind the active S-lon plumbers’ club, benefittin­g from practical and informativ­e area- based programmes carried out across the country.

The programmes are conducted with S- lon’s most respected senior profession­als to ensure that their members receive a holistic and up- todate learning experience.

“When we started this, our objective was to continuall­y develop the local plumbing industry and improve the profession­al and personal standards of plumbers,” said Capital Maharaja Group Director S.C. Weeraseker­a.

This aim extends towards offering members career guidance and support towards developing their career prospects and targets through NTT ( National Trade Test) and N at i o n a l Vo c a t i o n a l Qualificat­ions (NVQ) with the partnershi­p of NAITA.
