CA Sri Lanka’s Corporate, Strategic and Case Study Exams attract more than 3900 students locally and overseas

The Institute of Chartered Accountant­s of Sri Lanka ( CA Sri Lanka) attracted 3909 students at the Corporate, Strategic and SL5 Case Study exams held in December 2021, with the SL5 Case Study Exam recording a pass rate of over 58%.

CA Sri Lanka’s Chartered Accounting programme is a popular qualificat­ion among youth who have successful­ly completed their GCE Advanced Level exam with a minimum of three simple passes from any subject stream. Students who aspire to embark on a winning career in finance and management are known to choose CA Sri Lanka to pursue their profession­al qualificat­ion, as it is also recognised as the preferred destinatio­n in the country for accounting education.

At the Corporate Level exam, CA Sri Lanka attracted a total of 2382 students, with a majority of the students sitting for the physical exam at centres in Colombo, Galle, Kandy, Kurunegala and Jaffna, while CA Students residing overseas in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Maldives, Australia, and New Zealand joined the exam virtually.

A total of 1321 aspiring Chartered Accountant­s sat for the Strategic Level exam, which was also held as a physical exam in Colombo, Galle, Kandy, Kurunegala and Jaffna, while students residing overseas sat for the exam virtually.

Three students won subject prizes at the December 2021 Corporate and Strategic Level exam, with Sanduni Gawravi Pigera winning the Financial Reporting and Governance subject prize under the Corporate Level, while Ashvini

Kumari Panamalden­iya won the Corporate Law subject prize. Under the Strategic Level, Chandraseg­aranShabil­nath won the Corporate Taxation subject prize.

A unique feature of the CA Sri Lanka qualificat­ion is that it can be completed in just three years, including practical training at a recognised­organisati­on ranging from conglomera­tes to multinatio­nals which allows students to successful­ly transition from student to profession­al.

The CA programme is known for its contempora­ry curriculum as it produces profession­als who are geared to lead the corporate world, not only at a financial position, but also at a senior management level.

Chartered Accountant­s qualified by CA Sri Lanka are known to hold some of the most senior and respected corporate positions both locally and overseas. CA Sri Lanka members also work in over 40 countries, which is testament to their global mobility.

The CA Sri Lanka programme comprise of a Business Level, Corporate Level and Strategic Level. The qualificat­ion also offers two early exit routes, the Certified Business Accountant ( CBA) and Certified Corporate Accountant ( CCA) which allows students to become fully profession­al accountant­s at the conclusion of each level.
