Galle take honours against Jaffna

-

Galle was leading by 147 after their batters made merry of Jaffna’s bowling with their openers making the most at the other National Super Provincial fourday tournament at Hambantota, yesterday

Starting the day, on day-three, they came up with a strong first innings start, when their openers gave them a cruising start notching up a 200-run opening partnership. During that double-century stand, both the openers hit hundreds, and the pair was separated only at 208 by Janith Liyanage, who, in fact, claimed for both the batters.

Even after that, Galle went on for another 200-plus runs courtesy to half-centuries coming off from Suminda Lakshan (57) and Hashan Dumindu (54).

From the Jaffna bowlers, after Liyanage, it was Shashika Dulshan grabbing four wickets, coincidentally removing the half-centurions. Jaffna, in their second essay, was 43 with both their batters unbeaten.
