-

National batter Oshada Fernando continued his form after racking up 170 runs in the match, including a 97, and handed his team the advantage in their match against Dambulla in the National Super Provincial four- day tournament at Pallekelle, at day-03 stumps, yesterday.

Fernando’s second innings 63 was a quick-fire, coming off from only 71. Along with his knocks, it was a joint assault by the batters of the home team in both their innings, as they piled misery.

At close, host skipper Kamindu Mendis was looking to compensate the first innings missed chance of a 100 settling in with a 36.

Dam bull a’ s Ma linda Pushpakumara after toiling hard was richly rewarded for his seven wickets. However, though, his team replying to Kandy’s big 446, managed to muster only 216. Ashian Daniel and Asitha Fernando shared nine wickets with them, with the former picking up a five-for.
