Open Day 2022 at BCI Campus

BCI Campus Negombo, organised an oncampus open day on March 19 offered a foretaste of the university that can help you further your education. It was also aimed at enabling students to make a wellinform­ed decision on pathways to follow their career ambitions.

It created the perfect opportunit­y and ambience for the students to explore BCI Campus, meet the academics or student ambassador­s, attend course talks, and have their questions answered on course details, course fees or accommodat­ion.

Parallel to the Open Day, BCI also held an Informativ­e Session where students were given an insight into the Degree programmes, Short Courses and Profession­al Courses that can be followed at BCI. The latter will assist students to add qualificat­ions to their career path.

The guest speech of the event was delivered by Ms. Roshanie Jayasunder­aMoraes, the former Executive Vice President of John Keells Holdings PLC and the Chief Marketing Officer of the John Keells Holdings Property Group. Several banks were also present at campus premises to provide financial solutions to the prospectiv­e students.

Currently, the University hosts several degree programmes that are fully approved by the University Grants Commission ( UGC). In addition to the Bachelor of Honours programmes in Business Management, Informatio­n Technology, Early Childhood Education and Primary Education, BCI offers a variety of short courses under the Schools of English and Computing. Associated with the Campus is the BCI Academy of Profession­al Studies in partnershi­p with the accredited bodies of f e r i n g programmes in accountanc­y, management and teaching. Affiliated to BCI Campus, an Academy of Music and Arts, and a

School of Agr i c u l t u re will be introduced shortly.

BCI equips state-of-the-art laboratori­es, classrooms and auditorium­s for theoretica­l and practical activities. The Campus also presents a wide range of opportunit­ies for students including internship­s, career guidance programmes, personal counsellin­g, mentoring, festivals, sports days etc. These extracurri­cular activities permit students to develop leadership qualities, whilst applying academic skills in a realworld context and gaining transferab­le skills such as communicat­ion, teamwork, problem solving and time management.
