DAMRO extends helping hands towards needy families—1000 families to be selected

In light of the current economic and financial situation in Sri Lanka, DAMRO has decided to extend helping hands towards families who are facing extreme difficulti­es. Several stories of families facing financial and economic hardship during these trying times, were broadcaste­d on various media channels and were featured in various media publicatio­ns. These stories include those about parents who can no longer provide meals for their children, and pay the rent for their house.

Therefore those at DAMRO have decided to provide them with much needed relief in the form of dry rations. As such, Rs. 100 million has been allocated by DAMRO to provide relief packages for needy families throughout this year.

A thousand families will be selected from various areas across the country, by DAMRO. A maximum of ten deserving families from each divisional secretaria­t will be chosen to receive dry rations worth Rs. 10, 000 which will be distribute­d monthly throughout the year. The funds allocated by

DAMRO will be utilised purely to provide dry rations for these selected families.
