Peradeniya University introduces new conversion unit for three wheelers

One of the striking exhibits at the University of Peradeniya Research Excellence symposium was the introduction of an electrical conversion unit for three wheelers.

This was the first time such a conversion unit, which has two rechargeable batteries, was introduced to the country.

This conversion unit was the result of a research project conducted by undergraduates of the University of Peradeniya’s Faculty of Science that has being taking place since 2012. Each batch of undergraduates had continued the project.

S u b s e q u e n t l y, Lanka Transformers decided to fund the project and now it is a viable project capable, provided that a commercial sponsor could be found.
