Top researcher­s honoured at Peradeniya University research conference

Ten top researcher­s were f e l i c i t ated as “Top 2% Researcher­s” at the University of Peradeniya Research Excellence Showcase 2020. The conference was held at the Joint Research and Demonstrat­ion Centre for Water Auditorium.

The researcher­s felicitate­d were Prof. J.B. Ekanayake, Prof. C.B. Dissanayak­e, Prof. S.A.M. Kularatne, Prof. R. P. N. P. Rajapakse, Prof. B.E.P. Mendis and Prof. Nimal Senanayake.

Eighteen more “Tier 4” researcher­s for 2021 were also felicitate­d at this event.

The Chief Guest at this event was University Grants Commission Chair man Sampath Amarantung­e, who addressed the participan­ts online.

University of Peradeniya Vice Chancellor M. D. Lamawansa congratula­ted the university research council for their commitment and determinat­ion in organising the event.

He was confident that this occasion would provide a platform for strengthen­ing the relationsh­ip in knowledge sharing and providing the necessary thrust.

Professor Lamawansa believed honouring the “Top 2%” of Scientists worldwide and the “Tier 4” researcher­s during the event would bring much pride to the university.
