Top researchers honoured at Peradeniya University research conference
Ten top researchers were f e l i c i t ated as “Top 2% Researchers” at the University of Peradeniya Research Excellence Showcase 2020. The conference was held at the Joint Research and Demonstration Centre for Water Auditorium.
The researchers felicitated were Prof. J.B. Ekanayake, Prof. C.B. Dissanayake, Prof. S.A.M. Kularatne, Prof. R. P. N. P. Rajapakse, Prof. B.E.P. Mendis and Prof. Nimal Senanayake.
Eighteen more “Tier 4” researchers for 2021 were also felicitated at this event.
The Chief Guest at this event was University Grants Commission Chair man Sampath Amarantunge, who addressed the participants online.
University of Peradeniya Vice Chancellor M. D. Lamawansa congratulated the university research council for their commitment and determination in organising the event.
He was confident that this occasion would provide a platform for strengthening the relationship in knowledge sharing and providing the necessary thrust.
Professor Lamawansa believed honouring the “Top 2%” of Scientists worldwide and the “Tier 4” researchers during the event would bring much pride to the university.
