SLUCSM Organized a Lenten programme for catholic students

Sri Lanka University Catholic Students’ Movement ( SLUCSM) organised a Lenten programme for 34 catholic students who came by representi­ng the state universiti­es on 26th of March 2022, at Maggona Calvary premises. This programme was aimed to enlighten the students about the true meaning of lent. The introducti­on speech about the lent season was done by Rev. Fr. Srinath OMI and that was focused on the main purpose of lent and how to overcome from sinful lives as youngsters. It was followed by way of the cross which was also conducted by OMI priests and Rev. Brothers. Students were able to participat­e for a Holy Mass in the Calvary as well.

Concurrent to the reflection programme, some dry rations were donated to the children at St. Vincent’s Home, Maggona as an act of charity. All those events helped the students to uplift their spirituali­ty. We thank and praise God the Father almighty for blessing the students with this opportunit­y. A special thank goes to Rev. Fr. Ruwan Perera OMI, the National Chaplain of Sri Lanka University Catholic Students’ Movement and the organising committee for arranging this event in the midst of this pandemic situation. Furthermor­e, we thank Rev. Fathers and Rev. Brothers of Maggona Calvary, ,St. Vincent’s home and the elderly home for providing all the facilities for the students.
