Hollywood action adventure comedy ‘The Lost City’, a story about a reclusive romance novelist on a book tour with her cover model gets swept up in a kidnapping attempt that lands them both in a cutthroat jungle adventure is now being screened in theatres in Colombo and Kandy.

Uziel and Dana Fox, from a story conceived by Seth Gordon, the film stars Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum as a novelist and her cover model, respective­ly, who must escape a billionair­e (Daniel Radcliffe) and find the lost ancient city depicted in one of her books; Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Brad Pitt also star.

Reclusive author Loretta Sage writes about exotic places in her popular adventure novels that feature a handsome cover model named Alan. While on tour promoting her new book with Alan, Loretta gets kidnapped by an eccentric billionair­e who hopes she can lead him to an ancient city’s lost treasure from her latest story. Determined to prove he can be a hero in real life and not just on the pages of her books, Alan sets off to rescue her.

Shot in the Dominican Republic from May to August 2021, ‘The Lost City’ had its world premiere at South by Southwest in March, and was released by Paramount Pictures in the United States on March 25, 2022.

The project was announced in October 2020, with Bullock joining as producer and star and Tatum joining that December; the rest of the cast was announced the following year.

The Lost City is now being screened at LSC - Liberty by Scope Cinemas, CCC - Colombo City Center, PVR Colombo 2, KCC - Kandy City Center and Majestic Cinema.
