Hemantha Gunetilleke to head Nations Trust Bank

Hemantha Gunetilleke, currently Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Nations Trust Bank, has been appointed to the position of Director/ Chief Executive Officer, with effect from April 4, 2022.

He succeeds Priyantha Talwatte at the helm of the institution, the bank said in a statement.

Mr. Gunetilleke is a career banker with extensive international banking experience and a proven track record in Corporate Banking, Credit, Balance Sheet Management and International Trade Finance, joining Nations Trust Bank in 2016 and serving as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer during the last two years, while being responsible for the bank’s Consumer Banking and Commercial Banking business. Prior to joining the bank, he held several senior roles at HSBC in Sri Lanka, Maldives and Hong Kong as well as at Standard Chartered Bank Colombo.
