SLID: Corruption has ruined nations, businesses

-

The Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID) said this week it recognises the unified and collective voice of the people in their call for good gover nance and against corruption at every level.

“Corruption has ruined nations, economies, and businesses. It takes a giver and a taker for corruption to flourish. Corruption runs against good professional ethics, business ethics and social ethics,” it said in a statement.

As an institution founded on and bound by the philosophy, principles and values of good governance, SLID has urged its membership, all professionals, business leaders and political leaders to heed the call of the people, swiftly come together and make a lasting commitment to build, own and operate structures and systems in local businesses, professions and government that can generate greater social and economic value in the country free of corruption.

Corruption has ruined nations, economies, and businesses.
