SLIM and Vavuniya University MoU boon for students and faculty

The University of Vavuniya signed a MoU with the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) recently, with the objective of providing benefits to students and faculty members, Vavuniya University Business School Dean Yogarajah Nanthagopan said.

The MoU between the two educational providers promises to not only allow students and faculty members to participate in conferences and seminars but they will also allow SLIM students to join course extension programmes and course units of the Vavuniya University, Dr. Nanthagopan pointed out.

Dr. Nanthagopan also said there a conference will be held on July 4 and 5, which would be open to the Business Faculty. SLIM students and students from other educational organisations such as CMA, CIPM and ISBL can also participate.

The MoU will also allow SLIM to organise internships for students.

The Dean also highlighted that the MoU allows for top academics to publish their own findings and while there is no technology transfer the SLIM institute has agreed to share other resources and strengths they possess.

Dr. Nanthagopan also said faculties can join other student programmes and the university will also create a common framework for joint management programmes, which is still in its planning phase.
