NDB - Global Finance’s best Sri Lankan bank for 3rd time

National Developmen­t Bank PLC was awarded the coveted “Bank of the Year Sri Lanka” title as adjudged by Global Finance USA for 2022 in its 29th edition of awards for the World’s Best Banks.

The Global Finance Awards are one of the major awards in the Banking & Financial Services Sector, across the globe. Accordingl­y, this is the second consecutiv­e year NDB Bank was named “Best Bank in Sri Lanka” having won it in 2021 and the fourth year that NDB won this award, having won same in 2015 and 2018 previously.

In a media release, NDB Bank said it has been charting a new course in the Sri Lankan banking landscape under the bank’s brand ethos “The Future is Banking on Us”. The bank has excelled in customer- centric solutions and deploying digitisati­on at an impressive pace over the past few years despite the many challenges and obstacles in their path.

“This achievemen­t affirms the significan­t impact and contributi­on NDB is making to the Sri Lankan banking sector, as the fourth largest listed banking entity in the country, with agility and nimbleness to stay relevant in the rapidly evolving industry landscape. It solidifies the distinct performanc­e of NDB amongst its peers, and its ability to maintain consistenc­y in performanc­e amidst external challenges. With this win from Global Finance, NDB joins an elite group of best banks from their respective countries across the globe, such as The City Bank of Bangladesh, DBS Bank of Singapore, Commonweal­th Bank of Australia and Bank of America of USA.
