Enough paper for 2021 O/L exams says Commission­er

The Examinatio­ns Department is in possession of an adequate amount of paper to conduct the G. C. E. Ordinary Level exams starting f r o m M ay 23, Examinatio­ns Commission­er L. M. D. Dharmasena said.

The 2021 O/ L exams will be held from May 23 to June 01 and more than 500,000 students are to sit for the exams at more than 3800 examinatio­n centres and 542 regional centres.

“Despite the present crisis period the Ministry is already ready to conduct the examinatio­n. Printing work is being carried out and the examinatio­ns branch is working full time. We have enough papers to conduct the examinatio­n. By May 20-21 question papers will be sent to regional collecting centres,” Mr. Dharmasena said.

Mr. Dharmasena also said the accounts branch is making payments to the examinatio­n invigilato­rs of the 2021 G.C.E. A/L exams.

He said dates have been set for the 2022 Advanced Level and Grade 5 Scholarshi­p exams. Accordingl­y, the 2022 A/ L exams will be conducted from October 17 to November 12 and the 2022 Scholarshi­p exam on October 16.
