ANC’s Modern Montessori International concludes Annual Sports Week

The annual Sports week of ANC’s Modern Montessori International (MMI) took place with children participating in a wide range of sports events. Conducted with the spirit of friendly competition, cheering for their teammates and learning valuable lessons on sportsmanship, the event was held on a grand scale. At the MMI Sports Day everyone was a winner, as all children were guaranteed with a certificate. This eventful day was hosted at the centre’s playgrounds in Colombo, Dehiwela and Kotte.

Sports are considered an important activity and the sports week was held early in the calendar year. Children were grouped into colourcoded teams and they got an opportunity to participate in a variety of individual and team sports. Parents were invited to join the kids and witness their talents during the day.

The events chosen were fun, colorful, safe and easy to participate. These included relays, ball skill games, balancing, water transfers, and teamwork games among others. Children displayed their athletic talents with much excitement to all those who were present.

While the older children participated in a drill display the Kindergarten class was trained to play various instruments to form a school band. Students delivered the welcome speech as well as the vote of thanks, marking the end of another fun-filled week of events.
