The Department of Accountancy (DoA) of the University of Kelaniya, as a leading department in accounting education in Sri Lanka, proudly offers the Master of Business Accounting & Master of Business Finance programmes, which are the first- ever online master’s degree programmes offered by a national university.

The programme offers academic guidance and support throughout the semesters, whilst allowing student interactions at any time. MBus virtual learning environment supported by Zoom which offers live lectures, online examinations via a monitored online examination protocol and a Learning Management
System consisting of recorded lectures, lecture materials, assignments, and online discussion forums thereby enabling students to engage in MBus amidst busy working schedule without physical attendance. Students have 24/ 7 access to view the recorded lectures repeatedly. Students can actively participate in lectures using Laptops, Tablets or Smartphones via Zoom from anywhere in the world. However, to keep the conventional university atmosphere, MBus provides an opportunity for students to participate in day classes conducted at the University of Kelaniya premises if required but not compulsory. Master of Business Accounting & Master of Business Finance degree programmes are identified as a level 09 programmes according to the Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) which can be obtained within one year and if a student requires to continue the Degree for two years, the MBus Programme enables them to obtain the level 10 qualification accordingly.
