St. John’s College and Chundikuli Girls' College in Jaffna collaborat­e with Yara Technologi­es

Implements Talkative Parents EdTech Platform to accelerate digitizati­on drive with the inclusion of Cross Channel Communicat­ion and online school fee payments

December 12, 2022: Yara Technologi­es (Pvt) Ltd announced its partnershi­ps with St. John’s College (SJC) and Chundikuli Girls' College (CGC), Jaffna to implement the “Talkative Parents” (TP) EdTech platform across both the schools.

The platform will help further accelerate both School’s digitisati­on drive with the inclusion of Cross Channel Communicat­ion (enabling mobile app, text message and email-based communicat­ion) and online school fee payments via one unified platform. The schools can now connect with all key stakeholde­rs, from administra­tors, teachers and parents in a seamless and controlled manner.

The programme is sponsored on behalf of the schools by the alumni of SJC and CGC and SJC87 Initiative, an educationa­l charity formed by SJC alumnus in memory of their founder Mr. Sooriyakum­ar Sivanathan.

A key value propositio­n of Talkative Parents is that communicat­ion is completely controlled by the school given the hierarchy-based structure. The platform is a multifacet­ed system that enables:

Unlimited digital notices, calendar events and attachment­s such as student reports, assignment­s, timetables and newsletter­s via the mobile app Messaging to multiple groups/ subgroups of parents (i.e. school, grade, class wise or to an individual) A two-way private messaging feature allowing parents to connect with authorised personnel directly Calendar displaying school-related events which can be synced with the mobile phone Multi-language messaging

Online school fee payments via an Internet Payment Gateway (IPG) in collaborat­ion with Seylan Bank PLC Easy Payment Plans (EPPs) for parents using selected credit cards to pay the school fees via the IPG “Education is a collaborat­ive partnershi­p involving the school, parents, and the community. Our goal is to work together to provide the best possible environmen­t for the students under our care. Our partnershi­p with Yara Technologi­es to implement Talkative Parents is an important milestone in our college history as we look to strengthen and facilitate communicat­ion and collaborat­ion between parents and the school community,” said Mrs. D. Thuseethar­an, Principal, CGC.
