The 4th International Conference on Advancements in Computing 2022 (ICAC2022) concluded on a positive note recently promoting advancements in computing towards economic prosperity in Sri Lanka.

Held on the9th and 10th of December 2022 for the fourth consecutive year, ICAC 2022 was organized by Faculty of Computing, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT). The event’s main aim was to provide an open forum for academics along with industry professionals to present latest research findings and practical deployments of research outputs in the domains of Computer Science and Information Technology.

Enlivening the event, eminent highprofile keynote speaker Prof. Hossein

Sarrafzadeh, Director, Centre of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research, Education, and Outreach (CREO) at NC A&T State University delivered a speech on ‘Cybersecurity threats, opportunities, and possibilities for international collaboration in research and education’ discussing cybersecurity threats of national significance and the relevant research that can help to reduce the risks associated with cyber security globally.

This year the conference received more than 270 manuscripts from both local and international authors around the world. These manuscripts were submitted under nine tracks capturing emerging research areas in Computing such as Data Science and Data Driven Approaches, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Communication and Networked Services, Cyber Security, Autonomous Intelligent Machines and Systems, Technology-Enhanced Learning, Information Systems, and Computing for Business and Society.

All submitted papers were carefully reviewed by a panel of more than 150 well-experienced local and international reviewers. The reviewing process was double-blind, where the reviewers provided extensive constructive feedback to the authors for further improving their manuscripts.

Following the reviewing process, 85 manuscripts were selected for oral presentations on the conference dates.
