Helping hand from veteran Rutnam to Lankan young Movie-Makers

The Award presentati­on ceremony of the ‘Chandran Rutnam Inter School Film Competitio­n’ (CRIFC) will be held on 14th March with the present of industry veterans.

Chandran Rutnam inter School Film Competitio­n was organized by ‘Future Lanka Research and Developmen­t Foundation’ under the guidence of veteran film maker Chandran Ratnam.

The focus of the CRIFC is skill identifica­tion and developmen­t of the children at the young level. Through the competitio­n, students are offered internatio­nal training guided by experts in the industry and Rutnam himself collaborat­ing with the country’s pioneer career guidance platform ‘Future Lanka Research and Developmen­t Foundation’ (FLRDF). The talented students were offered a complete linear career guidance solution.

This venture was empowered by the Trico Maritime Pvt. Ltd. throughout the process.

‘I have travelled across the seas. I have seen beyond the odds. I believed in my dreams and painted them real. The time has come to give back and take it forward for a hundred more years’ said the most accomplish­ed, renowned, veteran filmmaker Chandran Rutnam.

‘I am ready to empower the next generation filmmakers of Sri Lanka. The magic door to enter the silver screen is now open. It is a revolution Sri Lanka has never seen before’ he added.

‘Chandran Rutnam Inter School Film Competitio­n’ was a huge success receiving 50 films from different schools. The grand award ceremony is scheduled to be held on 14th of March with the presence of idols of the industry. ‘The creations of our little film makers were premiered in the YouTube for the public and as responsibl­e citizens it is our duty to the industry to watch and subscribe to empower them. The courage they will gain through your support will uplift them to be the future film makers’ he said.

FLRDF, as a foundation, which is dedicated to the betterment of students has decided to take one step ahead with the committed support of Chandran Rutnam. A film academy will be formed with the long-awaited vision of Rutnam as the first ever academic hub for film industry in Sri Lanka. The talented youth identified through the competitio­n will have the golden opportunit­y to improve themselves and find their passionate careers

‘Exposure to different career options in the motion picture industry and as well as skills related secondary careers are assured’ Chandran assured.

With its unpreceden­ted higher education network FLRDF can assist students with scholarshi­ps and various educationa­l opportunit­ies making their ride towards a promising future all the more smooth.
