SLIIT Business School hosts SLIIT Soft Skills+ 2023

SLIIT Business School is renowned for its excellence in higher education and has built a reputation among the corporate community for producing graduates equipped with the required knowledge and competenci­es, and importantl­y the values and other complement­ary skills to succeed in the competitiv­e global business world.

Hailed as one of the flagship CSR Projects of the SLIIT Business School, the SLIIT Soft Skills+ 2023 programme is designed to help students improve their soft skills and assess their cognitive abilities to create a workforce that has the greatest potential for meeting the demands of the current competitiv­e labour market. The participan­ts learn a variety of profession­al skills and attributes, including positive thinking, leadership, collaborat­ion, communicat­ion skills, innovative and critical thinking, selfdiscip­line, time management, networking abilities, adaptabili­ty, and motivation. Participan­ts in the SLIIT Soft Skills+ 2023 program are exposed to these critical skills through a variety of hands-on and creative exercises. Ms. Geethma Pathirana, Lecturer at SLIIT Business School and the official coordinato­r for Soft Skills + 2023 elaboratin­g on the program, said, “Developing lifelong skills are vital for students today to succeed in school, in their future careers and workplace and in life.”

This year’s programme not only promises to be more interestin­g but will be rewarding participan­ts with exciting prizes. The event will be held in a hybrid setup, which will include a Soft Skills-based online quiz and an online workshop for both students and teachers followed by the grand finale to be held in Malabe SLIIT premises. The preliminar­y round will be held via Zoom in the virtual platform on 4th May 2023. The grand finale will be held on 12th May 2023 at SLIIT Malabe campus. The programme for students will be conducted in all three mediums i.e. Sinhala, Tamil and English while the workshop for teachers will be conducted only in Sinhala and Tamil. The success of programme is showcased through the expanding coverage over the years and reaching over 350 schools island wide when conducting session during the previous years.
