Diakonessenhuis applauds NEW fiNANCIAL MODEL

-

The union and the management team at the Diakonessenhuis also agreed with the measure aimed at boosting the income of the workers. Management has begun good talks with the union and both parties have also begun discussing the new collective labor agreement. Funds that have been made available by the State Health Insurance Fund (SZF) will enable the workers to keep their purchasing power. It has also made it possible for the situation at the hospital to return to normal as union actions are no longer necessary. The SZF was confronted with the huge task of addressing the financial challenge. The private hospital therefore applauds Vice President Ashwin Adhin’s explanation that the healthcare law must be amended. The VP had pointed out that the side effects of the law must not put the nurses at a disadvantage. The SZF, the VP, the sub council, the union and management at the Sint Vincentius Ziekenhuis (SVZ) played an important role in working out the financial model. Nico de Bel, general director at this hospital, pointed out that the hospital faces a huge challenge of keeping collective expenses under control. If the collective expenses rise drastically, health insurance could also go up and that is something that nobody wants at this moment. The Diakonessenhuis will spare no efforts in facing the challenges in the healthcare sector in association with all the stakeholders. But people will also have to do their part by engaging in sports and eating healthy food and adopting a healthy lifestyle.
