Masked gunmen target 3 vehicles

Three vehicles were recently targeted by masked gunmen on the road to Cassipora. Three people who were in a car that was driving along the road to Cassipora was attacked by 7 masked gunmen who came running out of the forest. The perpetrators had initially targeted a pick-up truck and later on a bus. There were 2 people in the pick-up truck. The driver of the car who is an entrepreneur pointed out that he pulled over when he saw a pick-up truck parked alongside the road. He looked inside the vehicle and saw 2 people sitting in the pickup truck who seemed to be in distress. When the driver of the car had pulled over, shots were fired and masked gunmen came running out of the forest. The robbers were armed with a hunting rifle and guns. The driver of the car and his family were told to get on the ground along with the 2 people from the pick-up truck. The robbers then brought them and their vehicles to the road to Suikerdam before tying them up and ransacking the vehicles. After several hours the perpetrators also brought a bus and a bus driver to the same location. One of the victims was reportedly shot in one of her legs. After a while the robbers left the location. The victims eventually managed to free themselves. The entrepreneur then went to the police to report the armed robberies and kidnappings. The injured woman went to the hospital while the driver of the bus also left the location. The entrepreneur and his family were robbed of a hunting rifle; SRD 1,100; $300, mobile phones and jewels. The people who were in the pick-up truck were robbed of 60 grams of gold. The bus driver did not have anything of value on him that the robbers wanted to take. The entrepreneur and a family member were also hit with a hunting rifle by one of the robbers but did not sustain any serious injuries.
