Hindori: “Hospitals are patiently waiting for their money”

-

The nation’s hospitals are patiently waiting for their money,” said Manodj Hindori, director at the Sint Vincentius Ziekenhuis (SVZ) and chairman of the Hospital Council. “We must also receive our money from the State Health Fund (SZF) but we are waiting to see what will happen in the coming weeks”, said Hindori who added that the hospitals received a portion of their money in November. “We are constantly in contact with the SZF director and certain promises have been made so we are giving them more time.” Hindori acknowledged that he does not know what will happen in December and if the SZF will be able to fulfill all of its financial obligations. “In December the hospitals usually need twice the amount they usually spent on expenses and wages because some of them give their employees a Christmas bonus and in January they give the employees their uniform allowance or performance bonus.

We need the money sooner because of the holidays. The people are already looking forward to getting their wages so that they can have happy holidays with their families. We have already told the SZF when we need the money and therefore hope that the SZF will give us what we need. We will know for certain next week so for now we will wait patiently”, said Hindori who added that the SZF director has already explained that he is dependent on the money that is transferred to its bank account by the government. “If the government wires enough money, the SZF can pay the hospitals and all others. “We are currently holding talks and the hospitals still have no reason to panic”, said Hindori.
