Two suspects arrested over policeman’s death

The police have arrested 32-year-old 8rnando - and 17-year-old 0eredith 3 over the death of a 26-year-old policeman at .watta. 3olice Chief Guno Roosenhoff told Times of Suriname that both suspects who are in police custody had initially claimed that the policeman had committed suicide on :ednesday night. Investigators found out that both people had lied to the police. Roosenhoff pointed out that 0eredith 3 later told the police that they were all watching a soccer match on television and that she shot the policeman dead by accident. After the policeman had put his gun ne[t to him, the female suspect asked him if the weapon was loaded. She claimed that the policeman had told her that it was not loaded. She then picked up the weapon and it went off by accident. The policeman died after the bullet hit him in the head. The victim’s body was taken to the Coroner’s Office for an autopsy. Roosenhoff pointed out that the investigation is still ongoing.
