When 0P Gajadien presented this case in Parliament several weeks ago he claimed that the 5oad $uthority had deposited 65' 54,000 into the bank account of the 1ational 'emocratic Party (1'P) at the Volkscredietbank (V&%) for the purchase of flags.

The former 0inister of Public Works, -erry 0iranda, told Parliament that the 1'P had given the 5oad $uthority a loan and that the 5oad $uthority had simply paid back the money. He then handed papers over as evidence. President 'esi %outerse acknowledged that rules were possibly violated but explained that no money was stolen. He also promised to launch an investigation. The president also added that things were done in the nation¶s best interest and that there was nothing wrong with that. 0P Gajadien explained that he and his colleagues detected many irregularities regarding this case and that attempts were made to mislead the nation.
