Man violates restraining order Receives prison sentence

-

A man who had pushed his ex girlfriend on June 22 was sentenced to 6 months in prison last week. The judge also gave Kevin P two years probation. The sentence was in accordance with the demand of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The judge made it clear that there was a restraining order against the defendant and that he violated it when he went to the victim’s house. “He was not allowed to go there at all”, said the judge who added that the perpetrator and the victim were both aggressive. The victim had a cleaver and another object in her hands. The prosecutor told the court that the victim received a visit from a girlfriend when she saw her ex boyfriend in the neighborhood. After a while the suspect drove off. The prosecutor pointed out that nothing happened the first time. The man went back to the victim’s house and stepped out of his car. When the victim spotted him, she closed her door but Kevin pushed it open. The defendant claimed that he wanted to talk to the victim but that she did not want to talk. The victim claimed that the defendant hit her in the face and that he pushed her which is why she fell on her hand. Kevin told the court that he had a relationship with the victim but that things did not go so well. He claimed that the victim made a movement and that he responded to that with a reflex. “It was not my intention to injure her”, said the defendant who was released from jail on August 2. He reportedly failed to show up in court on October 11.
