Moped runs three students over

A moped on Friday ran over three students along the Indira Gandhiweg around 7:25 AM. One of the victims lost several teeth while the two others sustained other types of injuries. The children were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Reports indicate that the children who were standing at a zebra crossing were on their way to school when the moped ran them over. The moped rider and the children fell on the pavement as a result of the collision. The moped rider complained about pain as he sat on the pavement. Drivers who were passing by immediately pulled over to help the victims. A patrol car that was passing by also pulled over and the policemen got out before calling for an ambulance. The moped rider was put in the patrol car and taken to the hospital. Reports indicate that several teachers also rushed to the scene to lend a helping hand. It is believed that the moped rider had not spotted the children while approaching the zebra crossing.
