Robbers barge into store

Four robbers who were armed with guns on Sunday barged into a supermarket located along the Viooltjestraat before committing armed robbery in the store and the gambling room. One of the robbers fired a shot. Fortunately nobody was shot. The storekeeper was standing next to the cash register when the robbers entered his store. Two of the robbers ran towards the storekeeper while the other two ran into the gambling room. The robbers who had entered the store stole two mobile phones and prepaid calling cards with a collective value of SRD 8,500 out of the cash register. An unknown amount of money was stolen from the cash register of the gambling room. The armed robbers fled the scene in a gray getaway car. The license plate numbers of the suspects’ vehicle is unknown. The storekeeper had a few scratches. The perpetrators are still at large.
