Mandatory quarantine? Man walks around freely

-

A man who traveled from the Netherlands to Suriname and who is supposed to remain in mandatory quarantine is currently walking around freely and is also delivering food and snacks to his relatives at their homes. He had hired a private security firm but the security guard left after one day which means that he can leave the ‘facility’ whenever he wants to. The man has even attended a party. The Dutchman claims that he walks freely on the streets and that he wears a t-shirt with long sleeves to cover the quarantine ‘bracelet.’ “I do not feels sick,” said the man who wonders why people must go into quarantine if nobody bothers to keep an eye on them even if they pay for private security. Several sources told Times of Suriname that there is also a hotel where people are supposed to remain in mandatory quarantine. But the security guard only stays at his post for several hours. As soon as the security guard leaves, the people leave the hotel in a taxi only to return shortly before a security guard shows up again. Health Minister Amar Ramadhin recently issued a warning in response to the reports that the private security companies were being sloppy. He made it clear that these firms risk losing their permit if they do not take their job seriously.
