Five duffle bags with drugs intercepted at harbor
Five duffle bags that contained drugs were intercepted at the Jules Sedney Harbor on Friday. The duffle bags were reportedly hidden among sawn lumber in a container. Police Inspector Rachel Deekman, head of the Public Relations Office of the Police Force Suriname (KPS), told Times of Suriname that the drugs weigh more than 140 kilograms. The container was ready for shipment. After customs officers had intercepted the drugs, they notified the police. The police reportedly seized the entire container and its contents. No suspects have been arrested yet. Inspector Deekman pointed out that the investigation is still being carried out at the Jules Sedney Harbor.
