Attorney says police made a mistake: Cashier released from jail

-

A cashier who was being accused of having fiddled with the financial records of her employer was released from jail on Monday. The examining judge agreed with the suspect’s attorney, Georgette Leter, who claimed that the woman’s arrest was unlawful. Leter explained to the examining judge that the police had made a huge mistake in this case. The suspect was arrested but there are no records of her being questioned by the police. “The police arrested the women before launching an investigation.

They worked backwards in this case. The woman was arrested around 7 o’clock on December 16 but was arraigned the next day at 9:45 am. I find it strange that the police did not arraign the woman on the day of the arrest but that they waited until the next day. The woman could have been arrested on December 17.

There is no statement of the woman in the dossier. The woman has been in jail unlawfully for 5 days,” said the attorney who will most likely demand financial compensation for her client. Leter explained that several people were connected to the server at the workplace of the suspect.

A male colleague who is an ICT expert could access the system from his home but he was never labeled as a suspect. “There is no report from the digital detectives in the dossier.”
