Fisherman reported missing

A fisherman who was reported missing last week most likely drowned in the river on Tuesday night. Police chief Humprhey Tjin Liep Shie confirmed that a fisherman from Ghana was reported missing last week. The police received the call about 11 pm on Tuesday. The fisherman who works for a fish processing company located along the Sir Winston Churchillweg disappeared into the Suriname River. Witnesses and security footage indicates that the fisherman was walking to a fishing trawler when he fell off the landing jetty and into the water. The police rushed to the scene after having been notified of the missing fisherman.
