Third COVID-19 being put up
A third COVID-19 tent is being put up on the tennis court of Residence Inn. It is expected that starting Wednesday the tent will be ready to accommodate people who are infected with the novel coronavirus, COVID-19-.
Health Minister Amar Ramadhin told Times of Suriname that the building of Residence Inn is also being ‘prepared’ to accommodate these people. The former hotel was also used as a shelter for people who were infected with COVID-19 during the first wave. Ramadhin pointed out that this location can accommodate 160 people in total in the tent and at the hotel. He also pointed out that two tents have been put up for COVID-19-patients on the premises of the Regional Ziekenhuis Wanica. Multiple shelters are needed at various locations especially given the fact that the number of COVID-19-cases are rising drastically.
