Traveling to and from Suriname not recommended
People are reportedly being urged not to travel to and from Suriname. Only repatriation flights are allowed from the following high risk countries Brazil, the Netherlands, the Netherlands Antilles and the United States of America. This means that mainly people who have the Surinamese nationality or who have an urgent or good reason to travel to Suriname will be allowed on the repatriation flights. People who want to catch a flight from Suriname to spend their vacation in another country are also being urged to remain here. The Surinamese government has introduced rules and procedures for the repatriation flights. The airlines must follow the procedures for each flight in order to get the green light. Each passenger who they want to transport to Suriname must be registered at the SubDirectorate for Consular Affairs. Surinamese citizens, people with a valid residence permit and PSA-card holders will be granted free access to Surinamese territory. Non-residents must request permission at the Directorate for Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation. Airlines are only allowed to transport passengers who meet the requirements to enter Suriname. They must have a negative result for their PCR-test which is not older than 72 hours, a reservation for a 7-day-stay at one of the selected quarantine hotels. If they have requested home quarantine, they must have written permission from the Health ministry and a receipt from one of the selected security firms.
