Person infected with COVID-19 strolls through the city

-

“A person who is infected with COVID-19 recently took a stroll through the city,” Health Minister Amar Ramadhin told Times of Suriname. The minister explained that the person in question showed symptoms of COVID-19 and had therefore been tested. As part of the procedure the patient has to stay at home to wait for the result of the COVID-19 test. “We called the person but nobody picked up the phone. The person also was not at home so we started tracking the person down. That’s how serious we are. And we found out that the person was walking through the city without wearing a surgical mask.

And it turned out that the person in question is infected with COVID-19. So that person took a stroll through the streets deliberately,” said the minister who is fed up with the attitude of some countrymen. The Health minister also condemned the fact that several people have announced on social media that they would enter a hospital without wearing a surgical mask to prove that COVID-19 is a fairy tale. “These people are endangering the public health,” said Minister Ramadhin who added that the Ministry of Justice and Police can start taking firm action against people who violate the COVID-19 rules.”
