Car ends up in ditch during armed robbery

A car on Tuesday afternoon ended up in a ditch located along the Indira Gandhiweg durig an armed robbery. The armed robbers managed to flee the scene of the accident with the loot. The owner of the car told the police that he was driving along Waterkant when he was signaled to pull over by a man he knows. The man who was standing by the side of the road was with two other men asked the driver for a lift to Ephraimszegen. The driver who was in the company of a friend agreed to drive the three men to their destination. But when they were in the vicinity of the Police Department Latour one of them pulled out a gun while another one pulled the steering wheel. The car drove in a ditch and the three men managed to make off with a necklace and 100 euro. The driver and his friend remained unharmed and unscathed but the car had to be taken away by a tow truck.
