Blue Wing plane’s landing gear collapses on touchdown

The landing gear of Blue Wing Airlines’ Caravan plane on Wednesday collapsed on touchdown at the airstrip at Anapaike in Lawa. No injuries were reported. The plane was carrying out a cargo flight and therefore had no passengers onboard. Sources told

Times of Suriname that the accident is the result of the bad condition of the airstrip. Anjulio Wolf, director of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority Suriname (CASAS), confirmed that plane from Blue Wing Airlines had been involved in an accident. He made it clear that nobody was injured. The accident is in the hands of the attorney general who will put together an independen­t team to investigat­e it. CASAS will provide experts for the investigat­ion but the investigat­ion is being led by the attorney general.
