Gum Air plane returns after misunderstanding
A Gum Air plane that was on its way to the hinterland on Monday had to return to the airfield. Dean Gummels, director at Gum Air, explained that the plane had to return to the airfield at Zorg en Hoop because of a misunderstanding. After the executives of this company talked to the Aviation Service and the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Tourism, the plane was given the green light to carry out the flight. “There was nothing wrong. Parties discussed all the new COVID19protocols. The plane was flying expatriates who wanted to return to their homes located in the hinterland.” The new COVID19measures clearly state that local flights can be carried out to transport cargo, stranded passengers and medical emergency cases.
