Baroka confirm signing of Zim star
Baroka FC have confirmed the signing of Zimbabwe attacking midfielder Rodwell Chinyengetere, though he will only be registered by the Limpopo side in January.
The 30-year-old, who scored 17 goals for FC Platinum last season, has signed a two-year contract, according to the club.
“We have signed Rodwell for two years, he is a top player and is also playing for the national team and I think he will add value to the Baroka Football Club,” Baroka CEO Morgan Mmamila said.
“In football language we call him a number 10 but he can also
play as a striker, he is a top player my man he is the player of the season in Zimbabwe last season, he is the top goal scorer currently so it means he is quality, there is consistence in him.
“For now he will just be training with the team and the team is doing very well, we can only register him in January. He is our property now so he will come and train with the team.”
Baroka will hope to have collected a first ever trophy by the time Chinyengetere is eligible to play as they take on Orlando Pirates in the final of the Telkom Knockout next Saturday, December 8.
