Zungu linked with Mbombela United

– Mbabane Highlanders midfield maestro Vusumuzi Zungu is heavily linked with a move to South African National First Division side Mbombela United.

A source close to the matter asserted that the former Matsapha United player is on the buying list of the Mpumalanga-based side in the next transfer window.

“Mbombela have expressed interest on Zungu and they want to sign him in January and they have been following him since last season. They would soon meet Highlanders over the transfer fee during the course of the month.”

“He has been

tipped as a good candidate to bolster their squad as Mbombela are fighting to gain promotion to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) next season,” the source said. Highlanders Public Relations Officer Paul ‘Magidza’ Masilela said he was yet to get a briefing on the matter when contacted yesterday. “I haven’t heard anything regarding on this issue and can only be in a position to comment once I receive a formal update from the Board of Directors,” he said. Efforts to get Mbombela United co-Director Oupa Matsebula were futile, as he did not respond to a text message sent to him yesterday afternoon. The ex-Jomo Cosmos player, Zungu, is set to join two former Mbabane Swallows players in Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza and Felix ‘Fela ‘ Badenhorst, who are both in the books of coach Milton Dlamini-led outfit
