Too much hos­til­ity at Hlatikulu Govt Hos­pi­tal

Nurses at Hlathikhulu Hos­pi­tal are al­legedly ex­pe­ri­enc­ing high lev­els of hos­tile be­hav­iour by their su­pe­ri­ors. The man­age­ment is ac­cused of mis­treat­ing nurses.

In the pe­ti­tion writ­ten to the min­istry of health by SWADNU, the nurses re­quested the min­istry to in­ter­vene in the is­sue of mis­man­age­ment by the nurs­ing man­age­ment at Hlathikhulu Hos­pi­tal.

“The man­age­ment is not fol­low­ing the right pro­ce­dures to im­ple­ment changes at the hos­pi­tal,” stated SWADNU Gen­eral Sec­re­tary Sibu­siso Lushaba. He said the man­age­ment is ac­cused of mis­treat­ing the nurses in many ways.

For in­stance, he said, some nurses were re­moved from the theatre with­out fol­low­ing the right pro­ce­dures.

The Prin­ci­pal Sec­re­tary at the Min­istry of Health Dr Si­mon Zwane promised to at­tend to the griev­ances soon.

He said they would give the ex­ec­u­tive feed­back by nex­tweek.

“We are go­ing to ac­tion to all the griev­ances soon and we are go­ing to give you feed­back next week,” he said.
