Judo president praises athletes efforts at Region 5 games
Judokas Sipho Langa and Mitchell Sten were unfortunate not to proceed to the next stages of their individual bouts after crashing in the tournament.
Langa was ousted in the quarterfinal of the man 73k while Shen was stopped dead in her tracks in the female 63kg semi-finals of the on-going Youth Games in Gaborone, Botswana.

Meanwhile Eswatini Judo Federation (EJF) President Princess Tholile applauded the efforts that the judo team put in during the games. “Our fighters have to be praised for making it as far as they did in the regional competition. I feelthey gave it their best despite coming up short in the end.
“Countries like Zimbabwe and the Seychelles are known for producing strong players. However, they did not do so well this time around when compared to us as we made it to the semis and quarter finals in our respective categories and for that our team should be commended,” she said.
