SOC­CER - Cor­rec­tional Ser­vices s i de Green Mamba have ex­tended their un­beaten run to six af­ter thump­ing Malanti Chiefs 3-2.

The tightly con­tested clash was played at the Somhlolo Na­tional Sta­dium yes­ter­day. It was sweet re­venge for the Cor­rec­tional Ser­vices side which lost 0-1 to the Pigg’s Peak based en­sem­ble in the first round of the league. Green Mamba dom­i­nated the first stanza and waited un­til the 40th minute to open score sheet and it was ma­raud­ing striker Musa Dlamini who blasted home a Phinda 'Phin­drix' Dlamini past the vis­i­tors’ goal­keeper Ntokozo Sha­bangu in­side the box.

The green and white en­sem­ble dou­bled the score-line three min­utes later from the spot kick af­ter Njab­ulo Tfwala was fouled in­side the box.

It was Mamba’s de­fen­sive mid- fielder Mx­olisi Mkhontfo took up the re­spon­si­bil­ity and he made no mis­take but to net against for­mer side be­fore the breather.

The match took a dif­fer­ent turn the last half with Malanti com­ing out with guns blaz­ing. The Christo­pher Temba led charges pulled one back a minute into the restart through their hit­man Charles Molopo who headed home a Sandile Maz­ibuko header.

The cur­rent league top goal scorer al­most lev­elled mat­ters in the 73rd-minute but was un­for­tu­nate as his fine header was tipped over the cross bar by Green Mamba goal­keeper Siyabonga Sime­lane. Green Mamba’s Solomon Oladele ex­tended their lead eight min­utes be­fore full­time with a fine strike much against the run of play in­side the box. Malanti forced a come­back with Molopo’s grab­bing brace, adding his tally to 12 goals.

The striker con­verted from the spot kick af­ter Green Mamba de­fender Sanele Khu­malo was pe­nalised for han­dling a Njab­ulo Tfwala back pass in­side the box.
