Swazi Chess Open to be played at Moun­tain Inn

CHESS– The 2018 Eswa­tini Chess Open will take place at the Moun­tain Inn on the last week­end of the month. The com­pe­ti­tion will fea­ture sev­eral coun­tries such as Mozam­bique, Botswana, Le­sotho and South Africa who have all con­firmed their par­tic­i­pa­tion in the com­pe­ti­tion. This was con­firmed by the Eswa­tini Chess Fed­er­a­tion Tour­na­ment Di­rec­tor Wil­liam Si­ame, who said prepa­ra­tions for the com­pe­ti­tion were al­ready un­der­way. The com­pe­ti­tion will take place on Novem­ber 30 to De­cem­ber 2 where lo­cal and in­ter­na­tional play­ers will be show­cas­ing their tal­ents. “I would like to thank Moun­tain Inn for agree­ing to host the com­pe­ti­tion in the coun­try and we are now look­ing for­ward to other com­pa­nies as­sist­ing us in stag­ing the tour­na­ment. We are fur­ther ap­peal­ing for any form of as­sis­tance from the lo­cal busi­ness sec­tor to come board in help­ing us im­prove the sport,” he said. The di­rec­tor fur­ther in­vited lo­cal play­ers to at­tend the com­pe­ti­tion in their num­bers. “We are call­ing upon all lo­cal play­ers to at­tend the com­pe­ti­tion in their num­bers in or­der to show­case their tal­ent against their internationals coun­ter­parts. We are hop­ing to have a big­ger com­pe­ti­tion com­pared to the one we had last year,” he fur­ther said.
