SPORTS– The MTN Wellness Day campaign was a huge success as 21 companies participated in the different sporting events. The event was held at the Prince of Wales Sports Ground yesterday where the participants competed in different sporting codes.

Sports that were played on the day were golf and soccer. Golf was played at the Mbabane Golf Club whilst soccer was staged at the sports ground. There were 15 ladies teams and 21 men’s teams. Teams played seven a –side football with games lasting 10 minutes each. According to MTN Wellness Day’s Event Coordinator Nomfundo Jiyane, the event was meant to interact with their customers and promote a healthy lifestyle amongst its employees “It’s wonderful to see the response we got from our customers and corporate partners.

It is especially encouraging to see so many ladies teams out here today. We are happy with the attendance and spirit which was displayed by the participants throughout the day,” she said.

Jiyane further said they were still going to discuss whether they will stage another similar event in the near future. “Judging from the response we will have to look at whether or not we will have another one,” said the coordinator.
