Three women struck by light­ning in Mat­san­jeni

Bolts of light­ning struck three women who were in dif­fer­ent ar­eas in Mat­san­jeni yes­ter­day af­ter­noon. Ac­cord­ing to Mat­san­jeni South Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment Bomber Mamba, who had to rush one of them to Mat­san­jeni Health Cen­tre, the three were treated and he was cer­tain that two were dis­charged. He said the storm which oc­curred be­tween 2pm and 3pm, struck a young fe­male aged be­tween 1415 who was walk­ing home from Ma­bande Evan­gel­i­cal Church where youth ser­vices were held. Since he was in the vicin­ity, he rushed her to the health cen­tre where they found two other vic­tims of the light­ning from two dif­fer­ent ar­eas. One woman, a some­what rel­a­tive to the MP, was struck while at Phumelela and was rushed by neigh­bours to the health cen­tre. An­other woman who was at Nkonka was treated at the health cen­tre and dis­charged. Mamba stated that ac­cord­ing to his knowl­edge, there were, thank­fully, no deaths re­ported to him by the late evening.
