SALAH HAT-TRICK SENDS UNBEATEN LIVERPOOL TOP
LLiverpool maintained their unbeaten run in the Premier League with a comprehensive 4- 0 win over Bournemouth, with African superstar Mohamed Salah netting a hat-trick.
Liverpool were probing for the opener in the early stages, but they lacked penetration where the visitors were playing with numbers behind the ball.
However, Salah broke the deadlock for the Reds in the 25th minute with a side-footed finish after pouncing on a rebound from Roberto Firmino's strike.
Jurgen Klopp's charges started gain- ing stranglehold in the game after half-an-hour, finding gaps in the last third.
Eddie Howe's troops, meanwhile, were not coming to the party and hardly created chances as they went into the break trailing 1-0 to the Reds.
Salah did punish the Cherries three minutes into the second stanza, making it 2-0 with a clinical finish inside the box after he was sent through by Firmino.
Howe's men started to get out of their defensive shell towards the hourmark but they ran the risk of being caught on transitions.
The Reds were 3-0 up in the 67th minute after Steve Cook turned Sadio Mane's low shot into his own net following a cross from the left wing.
Salah made it 4-0 for Klopp's men 12 minutes before time after making a long run into the box before skipping past Cherries goalkeeper Asmir Begovic to slot into a gaping net with a couple of defenders on the line.
The pace of the match was slowed down towards the end of the game with the Cherries looking dead and buried, as the Reds claimed victory to keep the pressure on Manchester City.
